Odisha government and oil companies develops plan to guarantee the supply of fuel for trucks and buses.

In response to concerns over insufficient fuel supply for buses and trucks, the Odisha government convened a high-level meeting with oil firms and transport operators on Friday to guarantee continuous public transportation services. Under the direction of Commerce and Transport Minister Bibhuti Bhushan Jena, the meeting was conducted at the State Transport Authority (STA) headquarters under the direction of the Transport Commissioner. Major oil firms, the state coordinator, and representatives from the State Truck Owners Association and Bus Owners Association were present at the conference.

Bus and truck operators claimed they weren’t getting enough gasoline throughout the talks. A number of temporary solutions were chosen in response to the concerns in order to prevent any interference with transportation operations. In each district, distinct gas stations will be set aside just for buses and trucks in accordance with the decisions made. Owners of vehicles will also provide information on the gasoline outlets and oil depots they previously used, and those outlets will be instructed to always keep a sufficient supply of fuel on hand.

Additionally, specific gasoline stations will be installed along National Highways in every district for the convenience of truck drivers. Based on the daily fuel needs of commercial vehicles, the state government and oil firms will work together to monitor the gasoline supply to these approved outlets. The administration promised that public transportation services would continue to run smoothly throughout the state and urged the public to ignore rumors about fuel supply. The meeting was attended by senior Transport Department personnel.
