Odisha Government to Compensate Poultry Farmers Hit by Bird Flu Outbreak

Gokulananda Mallik, the minister of fisheries and animal resources development for Odisha, declared on Wednesday that the state government would reimburse poultry producers who have been impacted by the recent outbreak of bird flu. According to Mallik, farmers would be paid Rs 20 for each tiny chicken that is destroyed and Rs 70 for larger ones.

Two Puri district blocks, Pipili and Sakhigopal, have been identified as the epicenter of the avian flu epidemic as a basis of positive test results from samples delivered to Bhopal. In response, the disease was stopped from spreading in these locations by culling over 30,000 hens. Additionally, in order to guarantee the safe transportation of poultry in the impacted areas, the government is putting safety measures in place.
