At the Oraon Cultural Society’s “Karama Purba Sandhya” event in Chandrashekharpur, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi emphasized the importance of Karama Puja in fostering harmony, protecting the environment, and appreciating hard work.
The Chief Minister declared that the state government will offer permanent land for the Oraon Cultural Society and incentive monies for the cultural development of the Oraon tribe. emphasized that the government’s top objective is the economic, social, and political advancement of tribes since the state cannot advance without the growth of its 23% tribal people. He outlined other projects, such as building tribal culture homes, promoting tribal scripts, and offering residential education to more than 5 lakh tribal students, 60% of whom are girls.
In order to lower dropout rates, the Chief Minister also highlighted the establishment of 15 Ekalavya Model Schools, scholarships, vocational training, and the Shahid Madho Singh Hath Kharcha Yojana, which offers Rs. 5,000 in financial aid to each of 3 lakh tribal students. The function, which promoted the Oraon community’s togetherness and cultural legacy, was attended by Union Minister Jual Oram, Scheduled Caste and Tribe Welfare Minister Nityanand Gond, and other dignitaries. The government’s efforts and the Chief Minister’s declaration highlight how crucial it is to protect tribal culture and advance the well-being of Odisha’s tribal populations.
