In the presence of Health and Family Welfare Minister Dr. Mukesh Mahaling, the Directorate of Medical Education and Training (DMET), Odisha, and MGM Healthcare Pvt Ltd, Chennai, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for heart transplantation at SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack. The Odisha government, led by Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, is dedicated to giving the state’s citizens the finest healthcare available. The MoU is an excellent illustration. According to Minister Mahaling, the new program would greatly assist heart patients, especially those from the economically disadvantaged segment. In a few months, heart transplants will start at SCB MCH, he continued.
Two teams from the Odisha Medical Colleges received free hands-on training from MGM, Chennai. MGM Chennai stated their intention to do heart transplants for the first ten cases at no cost because SCB MCH Cuttack has the necessary facilities. Additionally, they will conduct all necessary actions, including practical training, functionalization recommendations, patient screening, and post-operative follow-ups at a top hospital that is consistently operated. The team of doctors from SCB MCH, Cuttack, will thereafter proceed with more transplants after informing the H&FW Department.
In front of Health Minister Dr. Mukesh Mahaling, Commissioner/Secretary Aswathy S., Dr. Manoj Kumar Pattnaik, Head of CTVS, SCB MCH, Dr. Sura Kishore Mishra, Head of Cardiology, SCB MCH, and other senior health department officials, DMET Director Dr. Santosh Kumar Mishra and MGM Healthcare’s Co-Director Dr. Suresh Rao signed the Memorandum of Understanding.
