During the third edition of the Odisha Renewable Energy Investor Conclave 2026, which took place in Bhubaneswar from February 12–13, the Odisha government received investment intentions totaling Rs 67,000 crore.According to an official announcement, these pledges support Odisha’s contribution in India’s drive toward 500 GW of non-fossil fuel energy by 2030 by aiming for around 6.8 GW of renewable energy capacity.
The first wind resource assessment in Odisha and the city accelerator program under the PM Surya Ghar initiative for six cities to increase rooftop solar adoption were also launched during the conference, which was opened by Deputy Chief Minister Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo, who also oversees the Energy portfolio.
Speaking at the first session, the Deputy Chief Minister highlighted Odisha’s strategic advantages, which include solar and small hydro potential, as well as a lengthy coastline that is perfect for wind energy. He emphasized the state’s strong regulations, expedited approvals, and dedication to spearheading India’s renewable energy industry. He emphasized the significance of the conclave for state and national development, saying, “Odisha demonstrates the commitment to be the front runner in the renewable energy sector of our country.”

He announced that this year’s conclave secured Rs 67,000 crore in commitments and MoUs for 6.8 GW.
The MoUs signed by GRIDCO on behalf of the state are as follows-
- NHPC for 1,000 MW of pumped storage projects.
- BPCL for ground-mounted solar, floating solar PV, and pumped storage.
- NEEPCO for 800 MW of pumped storage.
- ABC Cleantech Pvt Ltd and Axis Energy Ventures India Pvt Ltd for 5,000 MW across wind, agrivoltaic, solar, wind hybrid/solar with BESS, and green hydrogen/derivatives.
- Vasudha as knowledge partner for floating solar PV and agri-PV projects.
