Pakistan spends Rs 40 crore on installing flag taller than India after getting IMF Loan

According to the global lender, the International Monetary Fund on Wednesday approved a much-anticipated $3 billion bailout for Pakistan, a decision that is expected to save the poor Islamic country from missing its debt payments.According to the IMF, the agreement to distribute the funds over a nine-month period in support of Pakistan’s economic stabilisation programme was accepted by the IMF’s executive board. While the bailout may have been intended to assist their faltering economy, it appears that their government had better uses for their funds as they decided to purchase a flag for 40 crores on August 14th (their purported independence day)!

Punjab province will raise the Pakistani flag at Liberty Chowk in Lahore. According to projections, the nation will require at least Rs 2,000 crore over the next two years to settle its foreign debt (plus interest).Along the Attari-Wagah border, Pakistan hoisted a 400-foot-tall flag in 2017, making it the highest in South Asia. The largest flag flown since Pakistan’s formation in 1947 measured 120 by 80 feet.On the other side, in order to increase FDI, the head of the Pakistani Board of Investment (BoI) presented a plan to provide citizenship through investment programmes in the nation.
