Public Enterprises Minister Dr. Krushna Chandra Mohapatra has instructed government officials to maintain “Niramaya” centers in government hospitals open around-the-clock in a major step to improve healthcare services in Odisha. The goal of this decision is to give patients in need prompt medical care. Minister Mohapatra underlined the significance of accelerating the acquisition and distribution of medications to suit the demands of ordinary patients during an Odisha State Medical Corporation review meeting held at Kharavela Bhawan. He also emphasized the necessity of deploying the necessary amount of people in order to strengthen the company.
The Minister also gave the authorities instructions to establish self-sufficiency at the Pandit Raghunath Murmu Medical College and Hospital in Baripada. He gave the company instructions to give the college the beds, facilities, and medical equipment it needed.
Dr. Puma Tudu, the corporation’s managing director, reported that the company is effectively carrying out state government-sponsored programs like Khushi, Sampoorna, and the distribution of medicated mosquito nets. During and after the COVID-19 pandemic, the company has also been supplying medications to patients in government hospitals. Senior officers from the Corporation and Public Enterprises Department, DMET Professor Santosh Mishra, Special Secretary Nihar Ranjan Dash, and Public Enterprises Department Secretary T. Ao attended the review meeting.
