Quinton de Kock delivered a stellar performance, smashing an unbeaten 97 off 61 balls, as Kolkata Knight Riders secured their first win of IPL 2025 with an eight-wicket victory over Rajasthan Royals in Guwahati.
After KKR’s spinners, led by Varun Chakravarthy and Moeen Ali, restricted RR, De Kock anchored the chase, guiding his team home with an unbeaten 83-run partnership alongside impact substitute *Angkrish Raghuvanshi (22)**. The South African wicketkeeper-batter, who was signed by KKR for ₹3.60 crore, finished the match in style, smashing a six off Jofra Archer.
RR, suffering their second consecutive defeat, struggled after key dismissals, with Vaibhav Arora removing Sanju Samson (13) and Chakravarthy dismissing stand-in captain Riyan Parag (25). Samson, RR’s regular skipper, played only as a batter due to an injury.
With this win, KKR bounced back from their opening loss to RCB, while RR will look to regroup after back-to-back defeats.
