Rajasthan School Education Minister Madan Dilawar expressed concerns about teachers engaging in unprofessional behavior, such as chewing tobacco, using inappropriate language, and arriving late to school with unreasonable excuses. He emphasized the importance of teachers maintaining good conduct to help students develop positive values. Dilawar urged educators to dress appropriately, arrive on time, use respectful language, and avoid tobacco, stating that their actions influence children’s habits. He remarked, “Many teachers expose themselves, which does not set a good example for boys and girls. Teachers must remember their role and be mindful of their appearance and behavior. When some teachers arrive unsteadily at school, what message does that send about drinking alcohol?”
He was speaking at an event in Neem Ka Thana on Wednesday, where he inaugurated the Upper Primary Sanskrit School building in Nrusinghpuri village. He stated, “Those who engage in such behavior are not teachers; they are enemies of children. It is wrong to refer to them as teachers. Our conduct should inspire children to adopt positive values.” Dilawar mentioned that he has observed teachers chewing tobacco, using inappropriate language, and arriving late with unreasonable excuses. Additionally, he announced that he has issued an order prohibiting teachers from leaving during duty hours for prayers or other religious rituals.
