Smriti Irani arrives in Amethi as an official: “Warna, aadhe ghante.”

On Monday, Smriti Irani leads ‘Jan Samwad’ in Amethi; the Bharat Jodo Yatra led by Rahul Gandhi also passes through the area.During her four-day tour to her parliamentary seat in Amethi, Union minister Smriti Irani held a “Jan Samwad” on Monday to hear the complaints of the locals.

In a particular instance, the minister of women and child development voiced her displeasure and chastised officials severely for her perceived incompetence.

“We will stay in Amethi tonight and reach Raebareli tomorrow morning. We will stay in Lucknow tomorrow and in Kanpur the day after. Then, we will take 2 days’ rest on 22nd and 23rd February…” said Congress leader, Jairam Ramesh.Irani chastised an administrative officer in the Tikar Mafi locality of Amethi, Uttar Pradesh, for allegedly invading territory, and instructed the SDM to get the land cleared in thirty minutes.
