We have some excellent news if you love scary films! You can lose weight by engaging in your preferred pastime. You did really read correctly. Researchers at the University of Westminster estimate that watching a 90-minute horror movie can burn about 150 calories, which is equivalent to a 30-minute stroll or a quick jog.
Participants in the study wore heart rate, oxygen intake, and carbon dioxide output monitors as they watched ten distinct horror films. It was sponsored by Lovefilm, a video rental company. The participants’ heart rates and metabolisms increased when they watched a movie, the researchers found, burning more calories.
Three things stood out:
The Shining ( 184 energy points)
Jaws (161 kcal).
158 calories from The Exorcist
Senior lecturer Dr. Richard Mackenzie, an expert in cell metabolism and physiology at the University of Westminster, said. That being said, you should continue exercising regularly and maintaining a nutritious diet. Horror flicks won’t support you in maintaining a healthy weight and lifestyle. You still need to eat healthfully and exercise.
