A thorough debate on the effective execution of the Subhadra Yojana was held during the District Collectors’ Conference that is now taking place at the Lok Seva Bhavan Convention Center. In front of Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida, Shubha Sharma, Principal Secretary of the Women and Child Development Department, gave a presentation on the program’s accomplishments during the second conference session. In her address, Sharma extended her gratitude to the District Collectors for their diligent efforts, revealing that 1,57,01,055 forms have been delivered out of the 1,89,34,176 printed.
She also disclosed that 25,29,720 recipients had received financial aid under the program; 25,17,545 beneficiaries received the funds directly into their bank accounts, and 12,175 beneficiaries received them through the Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC). Subhadra Yojana awareness-raising has been done in large part by using a variety of village-wide information-dissemination strategies. Furthermore, the Social Protection Delivery Platform (SPDP) is being used to assess beneficiaries of the National Food Security Scheme (NFSS) and the State Food Security Scheme (SFSS).
To determine who is not included in the schemes, a field survey is being conducted. In order to uphold transparency, all forms that are accepted or refused, along with the justifications for each, will be posted on the Subhadra website. Recipients will receive notifications through text message. The Women & Child Development Department dispelled speculations that money that had been withheld would automatically be sent back to the government, reassuring recipients that their money was safe in their bank accounts.
Pravati Parida, the deputy chief minister, urged officials to give awareness initiatives in tribal areas top priority while praising the department and the district collectors. She said that the Subhadra Yojana would soon enroll one crore women in Odisha, describing it as a major turning point in government welfare programs. The Minister of Health, Information, and Technology, Mukesh Mahaling, also commended the program’s use of technology and proposed compensating the “Mo Seva Kendra” and “Jan Seva Kendra” facilities for their assistance with the registration procedure. Vishal Kumar Dev, Principal Secretary, Department of Information & Technology, talked about the specifics of the registration and verification processes.
Cuttack District Collector Dattatreya Bhausaheb Shinde highlighted local success stories while outlining how the district has successfully executed the program. In order to streamline procedures even further, Shinde suggested combining “Mo Seva Kendra” and “Jan Seva Kendra” with Aadhaar centers. V Kirti Vasan, the district collector for Koraput, expressed the community’s enthusiasm on the advantages of the program. A major step toward empowering women throughout Odisha was taken when it was announced that the first installment of the Subhadra Yojana will be paid to all eligible recipients by March 8, 2024.
