The 14th president of Pakistan, Asif Ali Zardari, was chosen

In the National Assembly and Senate, Asif Ali Zardari earned 255 votes, whereas Mahmood Khan, his opponent, only obtained 119.Asif Ali Zardari, the co-chairperson of the Pakistan Peoples Party, was chosen as Pakistan’s 14th President on Saturday, taking on the role of head of state once more.Mahmood Khan Achakzai, 75, was the candidate of the Sunni Ittehad Council (SIC), whereas Zardari, 68, was the joint candidate of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP).

In the National Assembly and the Senate, he garnered 255 votes, while his opponent received 119. In accordance with the Constitution, the newly elected members of the National Assembly and the four province assemblies choose the next president through the electoral college system.Zardari’s PPP won the most votes in the Sindh Assembly, where it is the majority leader, and all of the votes cast in the Balochistan Assembly.

He also triumphed over Achakzai in the assembly of Punjab.SIC/PTI is in power in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa assembly, where Achakzai received the most votes in opposition to Zardari.
