Today’s stock market saw the Nifty record a new high of 22,623 and the S&P BSE Sensex reach a new lifetime high of 74,658, respectively.On Friday, the US markets provided encouraging global cues, and today (April 8) domestic benchmark indices opened strongly.
While purchasing activity was observed in the IT and auto counters, the S&P BSE Sensex set a new lifetime high of 74,658 while the Nifty reached a record peak of 22,623. At 9:20 am, nine stocks were in the red and 41 stocks were in the green for the Nifty.
Top losses were Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone, Apollo Hospitals, Wipro, Divi’s Laboratories, and HDFC Bank, while top winners were Bharat Petroleum Corporation (BPCL), Tata Steel, Axis Bank, Bajaj Finserv, and Titan Company.
