Waaree Energies Limited has reiterated its dedication to its large-scale solar panel manufacturing project in the Dhenkanal area, highlighting the fact that vendor contracts have already been given and development is well under way. The business reaffirmed its intentions to spend Rs 25,000 crore in the state, a project that is anticipated to create more than 14,000 job opportunities, in a formal letter to Hemant Sharma, Principal Secretary of the Industries Department. The business provided an update on the continuing groundwork while emphasizing how crucial timely electricity availability at the project site is to fulfilling construction and commissioning schedules. Waaree pointed out that the whole execution might be seriously disrupted by any delay in securing the electrical infrastructure.
“As you are aware, construction activities at the site are actively ongoing, and contracts for the facility have been duly awarded to respective vendors and are being executed as planned. However, as you know, power availability is critical for the execution of the project within the timelines communicated to the project proponents, and any delay in securing such power shall cause irreparable difficulties for all stakeholders involved,” the notification read.
The development follows the company’s Board’s strategic decision on June 20, 2025, to reposition some of its 6 GW integrated solar production capacity among several sites. According to the corporation, this action is intended to satisfy PLI (Production Linked Incentive) deadlines, ensure alignment with IPO objectives, and accelerate project progress. Waaree emphasized that Odisha remains a key component of its long-term business plan in spite of this more extensive strategic reorganization.
“We shall continue undertaking activities on the ground for the project and will proactively engage with your esteemed office and other offices of the Odisha Government for any support we may need,” the company said in a letter signed by CEO and Whole-Time Director Amit Paithankar.
