Mamata Banerjee, the chief minister of West Bengal, announced that by February 21, the state government would send money directly into the bank accounts of 2.1 million MGNREGS employees who have been refused salaries by the central government.The Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGS) has 2.1 million workers who have not received payments under the Center’s 100-days of work programme. West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee declared on Saturday that her government will pay the outstanding balances to these workers by February 21.The leader of the Trinamool Congress (TMC), who has refrained from forming an alliance with the Congress, declared that she would “play all out and win all out” in the next Lok Sabha elections and encouraged all parties that are not affiliated with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to stand.
