Arvinder Singh Lovely resigned, blaming the Congress party’s Delhi partnership with the Aam Aadmi Party. In response to a question about his purported future plans with the Bharatiya Janata Party, hours after he resigned as the Congress party’s Delhi president, Arvinder Singh Lovely said on Sunday that his resignation couldn’t be related to dissatisfaction over Lok Sabha tickets. The veteran emphasised that Congress employees in the nation’s capital never gave the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) a “clean chit” or the credit for constructing hospitals and schools.
After his major anti-corruption agitation petered out, Arvind Kejriwal and his allies from India Against Corruption launched the AAP in 2012. He was initially elected in 2013 following a fierce battle against the Sheila Dikshit administration. In addition, he had threatened to imprison Sonia Gandhi and other prominent Congress members on charges of corruption.”As head of the Delhi Congress, I resigned. To be clear, I have not resigned because to dissatisfaction with my tickets (for the Lok Sabha polls)… At a news conference today, he stated, “We (the Congress and AAP) are running for the Lok Sabha seats together, but the Congress and its employees never gave AAP a clean sheet or the credit to build schools and hospitals.”
