Thee National Open Taekwondo Championship and Warriors Cup 2025 is being held on the 8th and 9th of this month, at the NIST University campus in Berhampur, Ganjam district, organized with the joint support of various Taekwondo academies, associations, and clubs from across India.
For this competition, the Dhenkanal team departed for Berhampur on the morning of the 8th. To mark the occasion, officials of the organizing body, well-wishers, and parents encouraged the participants and extended their best wishes for a successful journey. They expressed hope that the team would bring laurels to Dhenkanal district and the state by winning medals in the competition.
The players were selected earlier this month after undergoing a special training camp.
The participating athletes include Amrita Sahu, Gayatri Mishra, Sikriti, Aksita Dash, Bishwaranjan Behera, Biswajit Mahapatra, Sahil Prusty, Priyanshu Pratik Kannar, Bedanta Sahu, Suraj Bahadur, and Ankit Priyadarsin, who will compete in different categories—Pre-Youth (PU), Sub-Junior, Cadet, Junior, and Senior—in various weight divisions under Kyorugi, Poomsae, and Speed Kick events.
Indrajit Sahoo has accompanied the team as Manager, while Master Eng. Soumyabrata Sahoo, 4th Dan Black Belt, Secretary of the Amateur Taekwondo Association and Chief Coach, is serving as the team’s Coach.
