2,200 Former Twitter Employees Sue Elon Musk And X

Elon Musk Will Not Join Twitter Board Of Directors

Up to 2,200 former Twitter workers have brought arbitration claims against Elon Musk and X, the site’s rebranded counterpart. Musk reorganized Twitter drastically when he took control of the firm in October of last year. A surge of complaints resulted from the thousands of layoffs and radical reforms. The filing expenses alone for the arbitration claims, which were revealed in a court document, might total a staggering $3.5 million.

The legal actions taken by Twitter, X Corp., and Musk expose a complicated web of legal issues. Chris Woodfield, a former senior staff network engineer, claims that X neglected to pay crucial fees necessary for progress in the JAMS arbitration system and failed to provide the promised severance money.

JAMS charges $2,000 (approximately Rs 1,65,590) for two-party cases and $400 (about Rs 33,120) for employment-related issues; nevertheless, they have applied a single $2,000 cost for all 2,200 of X’s lawsuits brought by former workers. According to a CNBC article, the company’s attorney stated that X did not mandate arbitration as the exclusive means of resolving disputes, separating itself from bearing the hefty filing expenses.
