One dose of vaccine is enough for people who have recovered from covid 19: BHU researchers

Covid 19 2nd dose vaccination has been discontinued in many places for shortage of vaccine. However, a scientific study by the Banares Hindu University (BHU) found that a single dose of the vaccine was enough for people who already had corona.

The study found that people who had once had covid 19 develop antibodies within 10 to 11 days of being given a single dose of the vaccine. So scientists have written to the Prime Minister to arrange a single dose of the vaccine for such people. However, those who have not been infected with covid 19 are more likely to develop antibodies 3 to 4 weeks after vaccination.

So far, more than 2 crore people across the country have been free of covid 19. So if a single dose of vaccine is given to such people, they can cause enough antibodies against Covid-19, the researchers said. “In this way, there will be no shortage of vaccine and can be used by other people as well,” they said in a letter to the prime minister.

Gyaneshwar Chaubey, a professor in the BHU Department of Geology, told the media that the survey was conducted on 20 people. Studies have shown that covid patients lose their natural antibodies a few months after they are cured. “People who have been vaccinated can get more immunity,” he said.

BN Mishra, Professor of Neurology, BHU, and Abhishek Pathak, Professor, Department of Neurology, BHU, participated in the study on the role of natural antibodies against SARS COV-2, while Gyaneshwar Chaubey, Professor, Department of Geology, Prajwal Singh and Pranab Gupta were the keynote speakers. The BHU’s scientific research has also been sent for publication in the American Journal of Science Immunology.
