NSA Ajit Doval meets with Oman’s top officials to discuss ways to strengthen security ties

Doval and Gen. Sultan Mohammed’s discussion took place “within the context of the attention accorded by Oman to current regional and international issues”.On Monday, National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval met with Oman’s top officials, including Sultan Haitham bin Tarik, to discuss ways to improve security ties between the two countries as well as opportunities for collaboration in technology, military affairs, and mining.Doval left Egypt with Prime Minister Narendra Modi to go to Oman, one of the guest nations that India has asked to participate in the G20 process this year. According to the Oman News Agency, Doval gave the monarch of Oman a letter from the prime minister that addressed “various aspects of cooperation.”

Relations in the business, investment, and cultural spheres were also discussed. The two officials also spoke on a variety of regional and global challenges, highlighting the importance for the two nations’ leaders of “adopting policies of constructive dialogue and international cooperation.”Gen. Sultan Mohammed and Doval met “in the context of the attention accorded by Oman to current regional and international issues and in reaffirmation of Oman’s status on the global arena, where it gained confidence due to its constant policy of advocating dialogue and peace,” the report said.
