Three of the victims of the Railway Protection Force (RPF) constable’s murders were Muslims, and eyewitness testimony unequivocally show that Singh had searched for Muslims after killing his superior, assistant sub-inspector Tikaram Meena.According to the Government Railway Police (GRP) team looking into the killings of 4 passengers aboard the Jaipur-Mumbai Central Superfast Express, no passengers have yet been located who may have videotaped the perpetrator, Chetan Singh, as he delivered his anti-Muslim remarks.
Three of the victims of the Railway Protection Force (RPF) constable’s murders were Muslims, and eyewitness testimony unequivocally show that Singh had searched for Muslims after killing his superior, assistant sub-inspector Tikaram Meena. The beardless Kaderbhai Bhanpurwala was Singh’s second victim in coach B-5 after killing Meena. Coaches B-4 and B-3 were crossed by him after these two killings. He located his third victim, Syed Saifuddin, a native of Bidar, in coach B-2. Investigators claim that after crossing coach B-1, Singh took Saifuddin with him at gunpoint to the pantry car, where he did no harm. When they arrived at the pantry car, he shot Saifuddin to death.
Investigators are piecing together those horrifying minutes on the train as Singh embarked on his killing spree thanks to the numerous recordings taken by the passengers on their cell phones. Under the condition of anonymity, a senior police officer involved in the investigation told HT that “the videos that are available reveal that Singh stood staring at the body of his 57-year-old senior Tikaram Meena for over 5 minutes after shooting him in the B-5 compartment and this has been corroborated by witnesses, including the attendant of the coach, KK Shukla.” Singh only made the decision to murder 60-year-old Bhanpurwala in the same B-5 train after waiting more than five minutes, the officer continued.
