BJD Removes Soumya Ranjan Patnaik From Party Vice-President Post

Soumya Ranjan Patnaik, a prominent party official, was dismissed from her position as party vice-president on Tuesday by Naveen Patnaik, the chief minister of Odisha and leader of the Biju Janata Dal (BJD).

In this respect, the BJD released an office order with Naveen Patnaik’s signature.

It is important to note that Soumya Ranjan Patnaik has been criticizing the party and its operations in public gatherings and in the Odia journal he owns and edits for the past few months. The distance between the senior leader and his party has grown as a result of his words and deeds. The BJD leader was particularly outspoken in his criticism of the Chief Minister, his personal secretary VK Pandian, and their trips to several districts to assess their development initiatives.
