The State Urban Development Agency (SUDA) had its 23rd Governing Body meeting today and approved a budget for the fiscal year 2024–25 totaling 255.46 lakh rupees. The Minister of Housing and Urban Development, Usha Devi, convened the governing body meeting, which resulted in the adoption of a budget of Rs 255.46 lakh for 2024–25, among other important decisions, according to an official press release.
The meeting’s discussions covered a wide range of SUDA initiatives, emphasizing the value of capacity-building initiatives in particular. The forum emphasized the need to support a strong capacity-building drive across urban local authorities and appreciated the progress made in this area.
One of the main topics of discussion was the training that Self-Help Groups (SHGs) that are working on projects under the MUKTA program were given. Thirty districts and twelve teams of MSGs trained 19,720 groups totaling 59160 MSG members.
Furthermore, the meeting deliberated on the adoption of a comprehensive capacity-building programme aimed at empowering community partners such as MSGs in executing diverse projects under the Transforming Urban Odisha initiative. SUDA, entrusted with the responsibility of spearheading urban transformation in Odisha under the 5T mandate of CM continues to exhibit commendable performance, reassuring stakeholders of its steadfast commitment to the cause.
