The Supreme Court invalidated the “unconstitutional” plan on February 15.Union minister Nitin Gadkari defended the divisive electoral bonds scheme for political party donations, which the Supreme Court declared “unconstitutional” and invalidated on February 15. He questioned detractors by pointing to what he called the “idea” behind electoral bonds.

The senior BJP politician said that there was another “drawback” to scrapping the plan, even though he said he would not comment on the ruling of the supreme court. If bonds are prohibited, people will view money as “number two.” With reference to black money, Gadkari said. The Union Transport Minister further dismissed the Opposition’s accusation that there was a “quid pro quo” between the giving organisations and the ruling BJP, of which the saffron party was by far the largest recipient with approximately Rs7000 crore in funds.

“Contractors would be those with riches. or those who have achieved great success in business or trade. Therefore, the Nagpur MP remarked, “It is incorrect to claim quid pro quo.” In the course of the conversation, Gadkari refuted the argument that electoral bonds had the potential to reintroduce dark money into the economy.”How can money that fosters employment, revenue, and expansion be considered “black”? He lashed back, “The money that is stolen out of the country and dumped abroad is the true problem.
