On Wednesday, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued a yellow heatwave warning for Odisha for the following three days. It is possible for alert nights to go longer than four days in this state.
The meteorological service predicts that for the next three days, the daytime temperature will gradually rise by 2-3°C. A thunderstorm with lightning and, in some areas, brisk wind is expected to follow. After that, the state might see light to moderate rain. “Due to the predominant dry air, primarily northwesterly/westerly, and high solar insolation, the maximum temperature is predicted to stay between 39°C and 41°C in a few locations in interior Odisha and between 36°C and 38°C in coastal districts of the state throughout the next 4 to 5 days. In many locations, the overnight temperature will probably rise by 2 to 3 degrees Celsius over the course of the next three to four days.
Although the temperature in Bhubaneswar and Cuttack may reach 40°C on April 4-5, the next day will see a modest decrease in temperature.
