BHUBANESWAR: Union Home Minister Amit Shah, on the occasion of Hindi Diwas, extended heartfelt greetings to the nation, emphasizing the deep connection between Hindi and all Indian languages. In a message shared on Saturday, Shah stressed that Hindi, as the official language of India, has an “unbreakable relationship” with every other Indian language, reinforcing the idea that the strength of the country lies in its linguistic diversity.
“Hindi has an unbreakable relationship with every Indian language. All our languages are the pride and heritage of our nation, and the country cannot progress without enriching them,” Shah said, underlining the significance of each regional language.
This year’s Hindi Diwas holds special significance as it marks 75 years since Hindi was adopted as the official language of the Republic of India. Reflecting on this milestone, Shah expressed confidence that Hindi, alongside all Indian languages, would continue to play a vital role in fostering national unity and in the country’s progress towards becoming a developed nation.
“I am confident that by taking all Indian languages together, official language Hindi will continue to contribute towards realizing the resolution of a developed India,” he said.
Hindi Diwas, celebrated annually on September 14, commemorates the day in 1949 when the Constituent Assembly of India adopted Hindi as the official language of the Republic of India. The day serves as a reminder of the importance of linguistic unity in a country as diverse as India, where over 22 officially recognized languages are spoken.
As India celebrates this day, Shah’s message reiterated the importance of nurturing and promoting all Indian languages to ensure the nation’s collective cultural and linguistic heritage is preserved and enriched for future generations.
