According to Odisha Law Minister Prithviraj Harichandan, plans are on to implement the Debalaya Yojana in order to protect temples and mutts throughout the state.
Briefing the media persons about the yojana, Harichandan said, “Our government is planning to come up with a dedicated scheme after taking the problems confronted by the authorities of religious shrines into consideration. Be it management-related issues or any long-standing issues pertaining to the reconstruction or conservation of religious shrines, this yojana will help sort out those issues. A blueprint is being prepared. After the blueprint is done, we can discuss things in detail.”
“While the previous BJD government-launched Augmentation Basic Amenities and Development of Heritage and Architecture (ABADHA) scheme was looking after reconstruction part of the temples and mutts, the new scheme will address several issues including reconstruction issues faced by the authorities,” maintained the Law Minister.
