MCG Commissioner Ashok Kumar Garg inspected Mohammadpur Jharsa village on Saturday to address sewer overflow and sanitation issues. During the visit, he emphasized that payments to contractors for sewer cleaning would only be processed after obtaining satisfaction certificates from residents.
Garg identified an open manhole cover during the inspection, which posed a serious safety risk. He immediately sought an explanation from the concerned junior engineer (JE) and instructed officials to take prompt corrective action to prevent accidents and health hazards.
Speaking with the villagers, Garg assured that dedicated sanitation workers would be assigned to the area, with a list of these workers shared with the community. To ensure accountability and transparency, he announced that the village chaupal would serve as the designated attendance point for sanitation staff.
