Dr. Arabinda Kumar Padhee, Principal Secretary of the Department of Agriculture & Farmers’ Empowerment (DA&FE), chaired a stakeholder consultation meeting at Krushi Bhavan with the goal of encouraging agricultural exports from Odisha. The meeting’s main objectives were to identify important items with significant export potential, address issues faced by exporters, and develop methods to improve agricultural exports by fostering a supportive environment for stakeholders.
In order to promote more involvement in the agri-export industry, Dr. Padhee underlined the department’s dedication to enhancing infrastructure, expediting export procedures, and offering policy assistance. By integrating farmers and farmer producer organizations (FPOs) to international trade, Odisha hopes to improve its income prospects and expand its market share in foreign marketplaces by fortifying its export framework. In order to fully realize the potential of Odisha’s agricultural sector and establish it as a major contributor to the state’s economy, Dr. Padhee reaffirmed the department’s commitment to working closely with exporters and stakeholders.
Director of Horticulture Nikhil Pawan Kalyan, Director of Agriculture Premchandra Choudhary, and representatives from the MSME Department, Commerce and Transport Department, APEDA (Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority), AAICLAS (AAI Cargo Logistics and Allied Services), and the Technical Support Unit under the PSFPO project were among the important stakeholders who attended the consultation. The cooperative endeavor demonstrates Odisha’s dedication to turning its farming sector into a thriving, export-focused business, which will help farmers and accelerate the state’s economic development.
