Dy CM Singh Deo Reviews Work Of Agriculture Department

Under the direction of Deputy Chief Minister, Agriculture, Farmers Empowerment, and Energy Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo, two review meetings were held today at the Lok Seva Bhavan conference hall. According to an official press release, Deputy Chief Minister Singhdeo and Principal Secretary Dr. Arabinda Kumar Padhee reviewed the agricultural and farmers empowerment department’s ongoing construction projects in the first meeting, while CM-KISAN and PM-KISAN reviewed the government’s procurement of Shri Anna.

The Agriculture Department’s current construction projects, including the building of Krushi Udyog Bhavan, the infrastructural development of IMAGE, the construction of India’s largest millet factory, a millet café, a food court, and other projects, were evaluated by Deputy Chief Minister Singh Deo. The agency has requested that the construction be finished by September of next year. Currently, 45.60 lakh farmers are covered by the Odisha government’s welfare-focused CM-KISAN Yojana. Each year, they get payments in two stages. An additional 6.61 lakh new farmers have applied to be included this year.

Likewise, the PM-KISAN Yojana has covered roughly 35 lakh farmers. It has been recommended that all CM-KISAN Yojana beneficiaries update their e-KYC. This update process is being done through VAW, BAO. Principal Secretary Dr. Padhee has directed to complete this verification process of beneficiaries by March 24. Disciplinary action would be taken against the officials who have breached this and their wages will be halted in severe situations, Dr Padhee has stated. Through e-KYC verification, bogus card holders will be discovered and the true beneficiaries will be able to take benefit of the plan.

There are 78,869 PVTG farmers in our state. Their priority inclusion in welfare programs such as CM-Kisan and PM-Kisan has been stressed by Deputy Chief Minister Singh Deo. Through the farmer registration, the state government is also working to create an integrated database of farmers.
