Procter & Gamble has announced that Shailesh Jejurikar, its current Chief Operating Officer, will take over as CEO from Jon Moeller effective January 1, 2026. Headquartered in Cincinnati, the consumer goods giant is the latest in a growing list of global corporations now led by India-born executives.
Jejurikar, 58, who began his journey with P&G in 1989 as an assistant brand manager after graduating from IIM Lucknow, brings over three decades of experience spanning markets across North America, Europe, Asia, and Latin America. He has been instrumental in the success of P&G’s Fabric and Home Care businesses and has led major innovations in supply chain, IT, and global services.
His elevation underscores the rising influence of Indian-origin professionals in global boardrooms. Jejurikar now joins an elite group that includes Microsoft’s Satya Nadella, Alphabet and Google’s Sundar Pichai, Adobe’s Shantanu Narayen, IBM’s Arvind Krishna, and Apple’s new COO Sabih Khan.
Last month, Moradabad-born Khan was named Apple’s Chief Operating Officer — a rare and prestigious promotion within the tech giant’s exclusive leadership team.
Other prominent Indian-origin executives shaping global industries include Vasant Narasimhan (Novartis), Reshma Kewalramani (Vertex), Sanjay Mehrotra (Micron), Anirudh Devgan (Cadence), and Leena Nair (Chanel). Trailblazers like Indra Nooyi, former CEO of PepsiCo, and Harish Manwani, ex-COO of Unilever, laid the foundation for this new wave of Indian leadership on the world stage.
