Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi opened the 7th Eco-Retreat, which was organized by the Tourism Department, close to Ramchandi Muhan on Puri-Konark Marine Drive.
Majhi expressed optimism that future cabinet and ministerial meetings will be conducted in such locations in Odisha’s well-known tourist spots, praising the Eco-Retreat as the state government’s most appealing tourism project. The minister emphasized that the Odisha Eco-Retreat has become a national icon and a model for other states, demonstrating the state’s dedication to sustainable development and ecotourism. He emphasized how crucial tourism is to generating jobs, advancing regional culture, and strengthening the economy.
Majhi described the state’s goals to draw 50 million domestic and 700,000 overseas visitors yearly by 2047 and rank among Asia’s top 5 Eco-Cultural Tourism Hubs by 2036. In order to make Odisha a popular travel destination, he emphasized the necessity of public-private cooperation. While authorities and stakeholders talked about methods to encourage sustainable tourism and local economic growth, Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida proposed ways to expand and internationalize the Eco-Retreat.
The traditional strategy does not allow Odisha to become the most popular travel destination. Odisha is expected to see a significant increase in tourists in the upcoming years. Thus, we must immediately get ready. In the tourist industry, the PPP approach is crucial. The Chief Minister came to the conclusion that our administration would consider this matter more in the days ahead and take the appropriate action.
