Odisha’s Per Capita NSDP Rises To Rs 1.68 Lakh

Highlighting the findings of the Economic Survey 2025–26, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Thursday said the report underscores Odisha’s steady march towards inclusive growth, with a significant rise in the state’s Net State Domestic Product (NSDP). Citing data from the Economic Survey of India 2025–26 tabled in Parliament, the Chief Minister said Odisha’s NSDP increased from ₹6.99 lakh crore in the 2023–24 financial year to an estimated ₹7.90 lakh crore in 2024–25, registering a robust growth rate of 13.04 per cent.

Majhi noted that per capita NSDP has climbed to ₹1,68,966, indicating rising incomes and improved living standards across the state. “The Economic Survey of India reaffirms the steady progress Odisha is making towards inclusive and sustainable growth,” he said.

Emphasising agriculture as a cornerstone of the state’s development strategy, the Chief Minister said in a post on X that Odisha now ranks among the top three sunflower-producing states in the country. He also pointed to deeper financial inclusion, with bank deposits rising to ₹5.83 lakh crore, strengthening savings and investment in the state.

The Chief Minister further said that Odisha’s fiscal position remains strong, allowing continued investment in infrastructure, education, and social welfare, while advancements in education and poverty reduction reflect the government’s commitment to inclusive development.
