The Odisha government is scheduled to provide smartphones to roughly 46,000 community resource persons (CRPs) working under the Mission Shakti Department.According to Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida, starting on April 1, which is also Utkal Divas, the government would give identity cards and uniforms to every member of Mission Shakti’s community support workers.
According to Parida, who also holds the Mission Shakti portfolio, the action intends to boost grassroots implementation of women-centric programs throughout the state and satisfies a long-standing need of the community-support workers. Speaking at the interest subvention programme for Self-Help Groups (SHGs) conducted at Mission Shakti Bhawan in Bhubaneswar, claimed the sarees to be handed to Mission Shakti women will represent the rich Odia identity and cultural heritage.
Parida reaffirmed the state government’s dedication to women’s empowerment and stated that the interest subvention program on bank loans has been crucial in improving the financial circumstances of mothers and women. The program has supported women’s entrepreneurship, increased market possibilities, and strengthened SHGs. She said that the interest subvention scheme for SHGs has been accelerated since the current government was formed. 5,44,493 organizations have already received Rs 318.30 crore in three rounds. Furthermore, 2,80,586 Self-Help Groups have received a refund of Rs 197.66 crore.
To further lessen the financial strain on SHGs, the Odisha government has extended the bank loan ceiling and cut the annual interest rate to zero percent for loans up to Rs 10 lakh.
