President Droupadi Murmu Arrives In Bhubaneswar On Six-Day Odisha Visit

During a six-day visit to her native state of Odisha, President Droupadi Murmu landed in Bhubaneswar on Monday night aboard a special Indian Air Force (IAF) aircraft. Shortly after the President’s IAF plane touched down at the state capital’s Biju Patnaik International Airport (BPIA), she was given a hearty welcome. She was accorded a cordial greeting by Governor Hari Babu Kambhampati, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi and other dignitaries at the airport.

Murmu quickly traveled to the capital city’s Lok Bhavan, where she is scheduled to spend the night. Over the following several days, the President will go to the districts of Khurda, Jajpur, Balasore, Puri, and Mayurbhanj to participate in a number of religious, academic, and developmental activities, according to her itinerary. President Murmu will go to Jajpur on Tuesday to pray at the shrine of Goddess Biraja and carry out ceremonies at Navi Gaya, an important location for ancestral rites, after spending the night at Lok Bhavan in the state capital.

She will be the principal guest at Fakir Mohan University’s convocation event in Balasore late in the afternoon. She would then go to Puri, where she will conduct ‘pind daan’ at Swetaganga pond the next morning and visit Shree Jagannath Temple for darshan of the sister deities at 7:40 am.

On Wednesday, the President will visit her home district, Mayurbhanj, where she will launch a holiday house at Rairangpur, visit a Girls’ Higher Secondary School, reveal the monument of tribal leader Bhanjbir Sunaram Soren and inaugurate a sports complex. After visiting Mayurbhanj, she is scheduled to return to Bhubaneswar. On Saturday, the President is expected to depart for Chhattisgarh.
