State Government Assures No Oil Crises In Odisha; Appeals The Public To Panic Buying

The state administration reassured the people that Odisha is not experiencing an oil crisis and urged them to avoid panic purchasing. Sanjay Singh, Principal Secretary for Food Supplies and Consumer Welfare, told the media that the state has enough petroleum goods in store and that consumers may obtain fuel whenever they need it. According to him, district collectors have been instructed to take prompt action in the event that a shortfall is reported in their respective areas.

“Overall, there is no oil crisis in the State. People are requested to refrain from panic buying. We have enough stock. People will get the oil whenever they need,” Singh said.

Less than 1% of gas stations are presently dry, he said, and even that is only a transitory circumstance. To guarantee a steady supply, the government often communicates with oil corporations and keeps a careful eye on the distribution. Additionally, the Principal Secretary warned against stockpiling and advised people not to believe rumors of a gasoline scarcity. “They shouldn’t trust reports that have surfaced about the fuel scarcity. Additionally, we are closely monitoring the oil stockpiling,” he continued.

The announcement coincides with reports that over the past two days, there have been longer lines and more purchases at gas stations in various sections of the state. In order to prevent legitimate customers from experiencing any trouble, the Food Supplies department has urged individuals to remain composed and refrain from needless panic purchases.
