A soothing music is a gateway to a harmonious life. Music is a versatile player- it heals, it makes us happy, it makes us sad, it energizes us and relaxes our soul as well. Moreover, India is blessed to have infinite singers, who touch our soul, by soothing our minds, one of them being Aaryan Banthia.
Interview Times had a great conversation with a talented singer and composer Aaryan Banthia, who chatted with us regarding his passion for music and his upcoming track Hey Betty.
This is how the Interview went-

When did you get inclined towards the arena of music?
I have always been a musician and have been influenced by music from a very young age. Though I didn’t pursue it professionally back then, my intimacy with the musical journey started only when I reached college. When I was studying in Cardiff (UK), where I was studying for my BSc (HONS) Sport Management Degree, I started doing open mic gigs. While in the UK, I got my mojo with music. Once I got back to India after Graduation, opportunities came by gradually, and I embraced it completely.
Going back, which event/factor you think was the breaking through for you?
I don’t think I’ve had a breakthrough yet. I believe that is still yet to come, and I am working hard towards it.

You are a versatile singer who loves to sing different genres and in different languages. Do you have any personal favorites?
I have heard a lot of singers from different genres, they all are great artists, and it’s really hard to choose one best from them. I like specific attributes of every artist; for example, I’m a massive John Mayer fan regarding his Song-Writing and guitar playing. I also love Mark Knopfler (of Dire Straits) a lot; in fact, I picked up the guitar watching him playing it so smoothly.
How important do you feel the quality of being versatile in the field of music?
I think it is essential to be versatile. However, I also feel every artist needs to master the one aspect of music in which he/she is naturally good at. They should focus mostly on that and keep working on the other aspects simultaneously
Can you brief about Hey Betty to our readers?
I’ve always wanted to produce a country song, and this is my first. It has a lot of guitars, I’m very tempestuous about guitars in my music. It’s all about childhood love. The idea came to me, reminiscing my childhood. Everyone has that first crush, kiss, and that someone who got away. “Hey, Betty” is all about the good old memories. If Betty is the one that got away, remember the good times. Weren’t they beautiful

Any plans for playback music for Bollywood or Indian Cinema in the future?
Why not? If there’s a good song that suits my voice and vibe, I am willing to explore it for sure.
Any tips for emerging singers/ kids?
My only piece of advice for the young generation is to keep working hard without thinking of the results. Just feel the music, follow your passion and the prosperity will be on your way.
