Working president of Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee (OPCC) and former MP Pradeep Majhi has resigned from the primary membership of Congress and has sent his resignation letter to the party’s interim president Sonia Gandhi.
According to the official reports, Majhi stated that there is a greater scope of serving people from a regional party in the State as it has a wider base than his own party, Congress.
Earlier there were speculations that Majhi would quit Congress and later he intensified the speculation after stating that there is not much ideological difference between the Congress and the BJD. After leaving the party, when senior leaders asked him whether he will be joining BJD or not, he maintained that there is no question of him joining the ruling party in Odisha.
