In view of the Covid situation, the Odisha government has released Rs 350 crore for disbursement of Livelihood Assistance of Rs 1,000 to eligible beneficiaries of public distribution system (PDS) in 30 districts under the National Food Security Act (NFSA) and State Food Security Scheme (SFSS).
According to the official reports, in a letter, Food Supplies and Consumer Welfare department Additional Secretary MQ Haque has requested Odisha State Civil Supplies Corporation (OSCSC) Limited Managing Director, Bhubaneswar to release the funds immediately.
Haque stated in the letter that – “It is requested to release the funds to 30 districts immediately by crediting the amount online to the Bank Accounts of CCSO/CSO-cum-District Managers as per beneficiaries. The distribution has to be completed in seven days from the date of start.”
Further for identification purpose, the Biju Swasthya Kalyan Yojana (BSKY) card will be used as the primary ID proof. But in case of non-availability of BSKY cards, existing NFSA and SFSS cards shall be considered as the ID proof.
The letter further added – “CCSO/CSOs-cum-District Managers, OSCSC Ltd shall download the Block/ULB-wise NFSA and SFSS card list for January 2022 allotment from Ration Card Management System (RCMS) dashboard & prepare Block/ULB-wise funds requirement. Accordingly, Collectors shall credit funds to the concerned Bank Accounts of Blocks/ULBs. BDO/EO shall collect proof of disbursement statement of Livelihood Assistance from the concerned cash distributing officials through the Marketing Inspectors & submit for necessary reconciliation of accounts. Collectors shall forward the Utilization Certificate WC; to FS & CW Department/OSCSC Ltd for record. Any un-disbursed amount shall be deposited to the Bank Account of OSCSC Ltd online/through DD.”
