Around 130 frontline workers of Capital Hospital in Bhubaneswar have tested positive for Covid-19 which includes 40 doctors, 30 staff nurses, 4o laboratory technicians and more than 15 pharmacists.
According to the reports, this incident has affected the services in the capital city. Capital Hospital Director Laxmidhar Sahoo said “As many of our frontline workers have tested positive for Covid-19, the services in the hospital have been severely affected. We are forced to run the hospital with a smaller number of staff. Considering the unprecedented situation arising out of the pandemic, we have decided to close the OPD of the hospital in the afternoon,” said Sahoo adding that the OPD is open for patients from 8 am to 1 pm only.”
The report further added that in All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Bhubaneswar more than 300 cases of Covid-19 infection have been reported in the last couple of weeks. The infected employees at the State’s premier medical institute include nurses and other paramedical staff.
