Is learning foreign language necessary ?

Indians are known for their linguistic diversity since a long time. An average person in the country can understand at least 2-3 languages. Nowadays the fluency of Indians is not just limited to local languages and dialects. A large proportion of the Youth is now interested to learn foreign languages. Apart from English, the foreign languages that have gained popularity are French, Russian, Spanish and German.

The scope of employment in learning foreign languages is exceptionally high. People get high paid jobs of translators not only from India but also from abroad. A lot of corporates now hire graduates with foreign language proficiency as their clients are generally out of India. Apart from corporate job opportunities people stand a good chance to work in the embassies. The chances of getting good jobs outside India also becomes abundant if one knows the basics of foreign language. This is also one of the reasons why majority of the colleges have now made foreign languages compulsory for the youth. These are few of the reasons why a lot of individuals consider it worthy to invest in learning foreign language as it gives them good returns.
