The Regional Meteorological Centre in Bhubaneswar has predicted that Kalbaisakhi is likely to occur for the next two days in various parts of Odisha. Heavy rains have lashed many parts of the state due to the effects of the western disturbances in the last 36 hours.
According to the reports, Balangir has recorded a maximum of 64 mm of rainfall. Likewise, 25 mm of rainfall in Phulbani, 13 mm in Nayagarh, and 15 mm in Puri. Also a yellow warning has been issued for heavy rainfall in Keonjhar, Jajpur, Dhenkanal, and Cuttack from 8.30 am of May 24 till 8.30 am of May 25.
The warning has also been issued for isolated thunderstorms and lightning along with gusty surface wind speed up to 40-50 kmph in Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, Kendrapara, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khordha, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Kandhamal, Angul, Deogarh, Sambalpur, Baragarh, Jharsuguda, Sundergarh.
Likewise, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, Kendrapara, Jagatsinghpur, Jajpur, Cuttack, Puri, Khordha, Dhenkanal, Nayagarh, Koraput, Rayagada, Gajapati, Kandhamal, Ganjam, Jajpur from 8.30 am of May 25 till 8.30 am of May 26.
