Dr. Gauri is an eminent writer . She has curated a wonderful book “Musings of a Psychologist and Ripples”. Apart from writing she has interest in Art, Cooking and Reading . Let us know more about her in this interview.
Q1) When did you first recognize your calling as an author ?

I have always loved writing. I used to love making personalized greeting cards for my friends on their birthdays and occasions. Then a lot of friends used to ask me to write captions for their photos. A friend suggested I start writing blogs. That’s when I started making my writing public. But the response I got was overwhelming so I guess publishing the book was the next dream.
Q2) How did you decide the plot for the book “Musings of a Psychologist and Ripples ?”

Being a therapist makes you realise how simple things in life have an affect on us. Life doesn’t come with a manual but sometimes we wish that there were things we were aware of so that we could have handled situations better or perceived a situations. Musings of a psychologist are a psychologists perspective of everyday things which have an impact on us. I wanted people to become aware of their mental well being.
Ripples is a collection of poems. I always have felt that what people can not relate through in conversations makes sense through poems and songs.
Q3 ) “Writings help to propagate our ideas and keeps our mind fresh . We can vent our emotions through writing, thus it is a wonderful hobby to have “. What are your views on this topic ?
Absolutely. It is a scientific fact. Writing makes us think in a clearer perspective. It clears up the jumble in our head. When you put pen to paper emotions flow into words. Those who write will always have a friend.
Q4) We know that there is a lot of hardwork that goes behind the launching of books .From preparing the final manuscript to writing the first draft till publishing. Tell us how your experience was and to whom would you dedicate your success in this entire process?
It was nothing short of a roller coaster. The important part was to learn from your mistakes and keep pushing yourself. My family has been my biggest support, from pushing me to write to being the language enthusiast to helping in marketing they were there at every step.
Q5) Nowadays a majority of the youth is much more focused on social media rather than reading books. What is your view on this topic ?
I don’t think it is just todays youth. Even earlier generation had people focused on T.V or other things than reading. Unfortunately reading has been associated with ‘studying’ for a long time. Or seen as something only ‘intellectual’ people do. Reading can be fun. It does not have to be autobiographies and self help books. It can be comics and story books. People will read when they realise that reading is for pleasure too and not just for learning!
Q6) Kindly attach the links of your book so that the readers can get a grasp on these beautiful read.
