A total of 84 old age homes run by voluntary organisations are functioning in the state, informed Social Security & Empowerment of Persons with Disability (SS&EPD) Minister Ashok Chandra Panda in the Odisha Assembly today.
Replying to a query from BJP Member Kusum Tete, Panda said that a total of 2,514 eligible inmates are staying in the aforementioned old-age homes. These old age homes receive grants from the government, he added.
The Minister further informed that the State government is providing Rs 17,94,60,050 annually as grant for better management of the aforementioned old age homes.
