On Sunday, practically the whole state of Odisha received rain, with Angul receiving the most.
Angul got 152 mm of rain between 8.30 a.m. and 5.30 p.m. on Sunday, according to the regional center of India Meteorological Department (IMD) in Bhubaneswar.
Angul had 62 mm of rain, Dhenkanal 57 mm, Hirakud 43.2 mm, and Puri 40.2 mm of rain during the time.
Sambalpur had 171.4 mm of rain in the 24 hours beginning at 8.30 a.m. on Saturday, the most in the state. Similarly, Deogarh experienced 118 mm of rain during the time, Jharsuguda 103.4 mm, and Dhenkanal 101 mm.
The IMD has issued an orange warning and forecasts scattered heavy to very heavy rainfall, with isolated extremely heavy rainfall, in one or two areas in the districts of Sonepur, Boudh, Balangir, Sambalpur, and Bargarh by 8.30 a.m. on Monday.
Isolated heavy to very heavy rainfall is expected in Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Deogarh, Angul, Keonjhar, Nuapada, Kalahandi, and Kandhamal districts.
The Met Centre issued a yellow warning, predicting heavy rainfall in one or two areas in the districts of Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Nayagarh, Khurda, Cuttack, Nabarangapur, and Dhenkanal throughout the time.
