Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bishnu Deo Sai stated that the Mahanadi water issue would be resolved soon since there are BJP governments in power in Odisha, Chhattisgarh, and at the Centre. He further said that it is “neither a dispute nor a problem. “ Sai stated that the shared political leadership at the state and federal levels has established a favorable climate for an amicable settlement when speaking to the press following his arrival at Bhubaneswar airport for a two-day trip to Odisha.
“There are BJP governments in both states and a BJP-led NDA government at the Centre. So there will be no conflict situation. Mahanadi water is neither a dispute nor a problem. This problem will be resolved very soon,” the Chief Minister said.
He noted that after the BJP came to power, water disputes between various states are being resolved. “The dispute that existed between Chhattisgarh and Odisha is not a dispute at all. It will be resolved very soon,” Sai added.
Sai stated that the matter had already been discussed with the Chief Ministers of both states and officials in Delhi, citing earlier conversations. “We have given the Central Water Commission (CWC) our approval. In order to help both states, we will adhere to the CWC’s instructions. There is no issue; the issue requires time to resolve. It will be resolved shortly,” he said.
