‘Bara Dibasa’ 2025 Celebrated in Dhenkanal

Dhenkanal – ‘Bara Dibasa’ 2025 was celebrated with great enthusiasm and grandeur here at Dhenkanal on Monday. The celebrations were observed at various places in the town by several organizations, clubs, institutions. Dhenkanal Conscious Citizen Forum which played the instrumental role for celebrating Bara Dibasa since 2023 organized the Bara Dibasa Celebration 2025 at Surya Convention under the Chairmanship of Forum’s President Surendra Mishra, where many eminent persons attended the event as guests. Around 500 people were served Bara and Aludam there.

Pankaj Nayak of Dhenkanal Conscious Citizen Forum said, ” Dhenkanal Bara is unique as it’s made from the Black gram locally grown here near the banks of Brahmani river, which makes it distinctive in taste.”

Similarly, Dhenkanal District Administration along with Odia Language, Literature and Culture Department organized Bara Dibasa celebration at the Gopabandhu Town Hall located at Ganesh Bazaar in Dhenkanal where Zilla Parishad Chairman Archana Puhan attended the event as the Chief Guest and Collector and District Magistrate Somesh Kumar Upadhyay attended the event as the Guest of honour.

On this occasion two books and one song on Dhenkanal Bara was released by the guests. Several Bara shop owners were felicitated by esteemed guests.

Leading Youth Club of Dhenkanal Bajrang Club also celebrated Bara Dibasa in front of their Club where thousands of crowd gather in the evening to relish the famous Bara of Dhenkanal.

Gurudevji Foundation and Dhenkanal Academy of Medical Science celebrated Bara Dibasa at Mini Stadium by cutting a two kilogram Bara.

Master Er. Soumyabrata Sahoo said, ” Dhenkanal Bara is very much celebrated and people from all age group like Dhenkanal Bara to eat, the taste of Dhenkanal is unique.”

Dhenkanal Bara is quite famous and the history of Dhenkanal Bara is quite long since decades, the key ingredients of Dhenkanal Bara are black gram, cumin, rice flour, onion, and curry leaves.
