Union Home Minister Amit Shah said on Monday that the BJP government in Madhya Pradesh had dismantled “terror activities” of the banned Students Islamic Movement of India (SIMI) in the state’s Malwa region. According to Shah, police officers outnumber soldiers in terms of lives lost in the line of duty. The home minister was speaking at Bhopal’s Ravindra Bhawan after virtually laying the groundwork for a forensic science university on 27 acres of land in Barkheda Bondar, near the state capital.Shah also dedicated and laid the groundwork for several projects related to police housing and administrative buildings. According to the home minister, Madhya Pradesh’s Malwa region was once a hotbed of terror activity from which SIMI members were dispatched to other parts of the country to carry out unlawful and nefarious acts.He claimed that SIMI members from Malwa were involved in “terrorist activities” throughout the country.However, the BJP government in Madhya Pradesh has removed the SIMI’s base and activities from Malwa, which are prohibited under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, according to Shah.According to Shah, more police officers than soldiers have died in the line of duty. According to him, more than 35,000 police officers have been killed while maintaining internal security and peace as well as fighting Naxalism and terrorism.According to the Union minister, some filmmakers present a false image of police officers on the big screen in order to ensure the success of their films.
