In the ensuing conflicts, prohibitory orders under section 144 of the CrPc had to be issued and internet services had to be shut down due to several injuries, including those to police officers.The Ram Navami skirmishes appear to have been organised, according to records filed by the state police, the Calcutta high court stated earlier this month. It also suggested that a central agency could be better qualified to investigate the events, which had heightened intercommunal tensions and sparked a political dispute in the eastern state.
